In our search for an officiant for our wedding, we specifically wanted someone who would make us feel comfortable, be responsive, liven up a ceremony and for a humanistic approach for an officiant. Brenda was all that and more.

Between emails and an in-person meeting, we were able to solidify a type of ceremony as well as customize and smooth over any details (i.e. our vows, what we would like Brenda to say, etc).

Brenda provided excellent guidance as to what a ceremony entails and answered any questions we may have had. Her attention to detail is excellent; she even went out of her way to make sure she dressed accordingly to our colour palette for the wedding day.

“One of the first things my Mother-In-Law said when my husband and I told her we were going to get married was “Oh! I have a friend that does weddings. I’d love it if you guys used her!”

We had put very little thought into the hows and wheres of it all so we were happy to accommodate the request. It was one less thing to figure out after all.

Am I ever thrilled that we did! The more I learned about Brenda Hamilton the more impressed I was.

When I mentioned to our videographer that Brenda was going to be our officiant she replied “That woman is like a brand name in this town. I can’t count the number of weddings I’ve shot with her.”

You don’t get that popular for nothing. Brenda is wonderful. She is incredibly knowledgeable about when and where couples can get wedding licences and she can also help explain how to get your name changed (if you so desire).

She sent us our wedding script well in advance. It was perfect. I only asked for one alteration and it was just that I say my vows before my hubby so that I wasn’t already a blubbering mess at the outset.

On the big day I barely ended up seeing her. In a good way though! I jokingly refer to her as my efficient, officiant, ninja! She let me know she was on site and then disappeared. I’m told she was making sure everything was just so at the ceremony spot. The photos of us signing our licence turned out better than they otherwise would have based on her suggestion that we change the placement of the desk we were signing it at.

She was mindful of all the new stipulations regarding social distancing that Covid has forced us to adhere to and yet we were barely aware that our wedding was taking place during a pandemic.

She was everything we could have hoped for and I could not recommend her more highly! In fact my sister-in-law to be already has her penciled in for next year! “

Of all of our wedding vendors, she was the first that we met with and she offered a ton of guidance insofar as possible venues, photographers, and florists.

She also provided a great breakdown to help us in applying for our marriage licence (prior to the ceremony) and our marriage certificate (following the ceremony).

Given COVID-19 restrictions, Brenda kept us updated as to the province's guidelines and she was understanding and accommodating when we had to change our venue and witnesses at short notice.

Brenda gave us tons of options in designing the wording to be used in our ceremony and kept our guests laughing throughout.
